The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber and the Baby on Board program
powered by ONE Health Ohio and RISE Recovery, will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate a new
service line of specialized counseling in maternal mental health and maternal addiction. The event will take
place Friday, January 14 at 10:30am at Lloyd McCoy Community Center (1977 Niles Road SE, Warren, OH
44484).
The clinical Perinatal Mental Health Counselor can assist expecting and new mothers on coping with emotional
difficulties and challenges that can occur during and after pregnancy, as well as assist with treatment for
substance abuse through RISE Recovery if needed. Baby on Board services can be provided at all ONE Health
Ohio and RISE Recovery locations across Mahoning, Trumbull, and Stark counties.
“Postpartum Depression is typically the umbrella term but there are other types of psychological and emotional
problems that can occur in pregnancy and in the postpartum period,” states Leslie Markulin, Perinatal Mental
Health Counselor. “Symptoms of adjustment difficulties, anxiety, irritability, obsessive thoughts, and
compulsive behaviors can first occur without depressive symptoms. Many women and families also struggle
with ongoing depression and grief after a miscarriage, a fetal loss, or infertility. The Baby on Board Program is
able to offer specialized counseling and support for these very special needs.”
Baby on Board accepts Medicaid and most major insurances. A Sliding Fee Scale is available to assist the
